Professional Meetings
Here you can read about the various events that take place within the organization throughout the semester. These events are a great way to network, develop relationships with members, and to give back to as well as serve both the UH student body and the Houston community.
Being a part of SHRM will allow you to grow your network of professionals and colleagues, as well as maintain lasting friendships!
Our professional meetings provide members with a unique opportunity to hear from and network with people who are currently in the professional working world. The meetings are conveniently on campus and professional attire is encouraged but not required!
Companies that visit vary from small to large, and public to private!
Our community service events are a great way to give back to the community. You are sure to leave with a sense of pride and accomplishment. These events are a great way to build your resume.
Picture this: while the average college student is at home sleeping in, you are putting smiles on peoples' faces and being a model citizen!
We have to make money somehow, right? Come out and be part of any of the two bakes sales at Melcher Hall. This is a fun way to collaborate with your fellow SHRM members and serve your fellow students!
All items are donated by SHRM members so that there is a 100% profit for SHRM so that we may continue to provide our members with great opportunities.
It's always fun to go out with fellow members and relax a little. Social events are a great, low pressure way to get to know SHRM members better and really be yourself!
Our signature event is our end-of-semster banquet. Members gather for a relaxing and unforgettable night of food, fun and photo taking that you are sure to never forget!

Corporate Visits
Corporate visits give members the opportunity to not only network with professionals, but also give you the opportunity to visit and tour corporate offices. Member will learn all about the company and how they conduct business on a daily basis.
This is a great way for members to "get their foot in the door" and be considered for employment. Several members have received job offers as a result of attending these visits.
